UNDERSTANDING THE INHIBIT FEATURE.

Temporarily immobilizes your electronic vehicle when charging for safety purposes.

The Inhibit Feature:

The Inhibit Feature:

The inhibit feature prevents electric vehicles from moving while charging, which prevents accidental damage to the connected cabling system. The inhibit port contains a 20A relay that closes when connected to AC power and disables the vehicle. When the charger is removed from AC power, it takes approximately 20 seconds for the capacitors to discharge and the relay to open.

Each screw represents one side of the relay. When the relay is closed, it is as though the two screws (Inhibit Port) are connected together with a wire. When this is the case, you do not have to worry about polarity in connecting with the Inhibit Port.

Preferred GX Inhibit Wiring:

One possible way to implement this feature is by putting it across the ignition relay coil. If the coil is unable to energize then the ignition relay will not close. Make sure the configuration has a current limiting resistor in line with the Inhibit Port just to make sure there isn't a direct connection between Battery and Battery -.
